The Health Risks of Cell Phone Use for Children and Teenagers

With technology steadily improving, it is no wonder that cell phones play a huge role in society. No matter where you look, consumers are always carrying around a cell phone. Teenagers are obsessed with this technological phenomenon, as they are always looking for cell phone unlock codes and other features. While this shows that the cell phone industry is one market on the rise, controversy is now stirring up. People feel that there may be potential health risks behind cell phone use for adolescents.

Although there have been recent controversies surrounding health risks and cell phones, there are no studies that show proof of this. Nevertheless, it is known that cell phones emit a certain type of energy, called radio frequency energy. When the radio frequency energy is heated up, health risks can occur and may result in serious damage. However, this doesnt happen when low amounts of RF are used. For the most part, people feel that there is not enough of it when a consumer uses a cell phone.

On the other hand, there are also no studies that defend a wireless phones safety. Nevertheless, the general consensus is that cell phones are a wonderful way for parents to stay in touch of their children. In order to keep informed, it is important to always make sure you are connected with the news. It is also vital to ask as many questions as you can before buying a cell phone. Unfortunately, the FDA does not review the health risks of cell phones. This could be dangerous, as some people feel that the real risks are merely being masked. If a large amount of RF is found in a specific phone, the FDA does have the ability to investigate further. However, the FDA has told manufacturers that cell phones need to have the lowest amount of radio frequency energy as possible. With that in mind, it currently does not pose a threat for teenagers, adults, or young children.

While some parents feel that the dangers may be greater than the benefits, many think that it is a wonderful device. Ironically, cell phones are a great item that will ensure your safety. For instance, if you were to be kidnapped or need assistance immediately, a cell phone would give you the chance to call 911 or a close contact. Parents also can sleep at night knowing that their children have a phone incase something happens. They easily can find out their childrens location, no matter what time it is. Therefore, even if people worry about the safety of cell phones, there are no known studies that prove its unsafe. For now, these instruments only help us in our daily lives.
