A lot of people are upset with the government and the NSA for acknowledging the millions of citizens phones have been tapped. I have a hard time being upset about this. I love America. I enjoy the freedoms we have because we live in this free country. However, with freedom comes responsibility. Without rules and checks freedom is not too far from anarchy.

I have nothing to hide. I also have faith that our government would not use my phone conversations to find trade secrets or to hurt my business. I trust they would tape me to make sure Im clean. By clean I mean not involved in activities that would break laws or hurt fellow Americans. Tap away America. If you want to listen to me tell my mom I will come visit this weekend go for it. If some computer searches my words for key relationships to make sure Im not a terrorist great.

Now many would say lets only tap the bad guys. Thats a great idea. Except for one thing. How do we know who the bad guys are? We can make assumptions like all people with an accent or dark skin, but that would be profiling. If you have to tap the good to get the bad then do it. I will gladly give up a small portion of my freedom if it means I can go to a mall without worrying if someone is going to blow it up.
